No AAHPERD--no worries! Special offers from HK!

As many of you know, this year's National AAHPERD Convention had to be cancelled due to events in Boston. Like you, the HK staff is disappointed to miss the fun, camaraderie, educational opportunities, and shopping that usually goes on at this event. In place of our large booth in the exhibit hall, we decided to host a "virtual" conference to hopefully help make up for some of the educational opportunities you might have missed out on, hopefully some of the fun. If you haven’t joined our HK Rewards program, you should. US HK Rewards members receive 20-30% off the price of books, and free shipping until March 31st. In addition, we are offering another 10% off and extending the free shipping (in the continental US) through April 30th when you use promo code L1062! To take advantage of this special offer, first sign up for HK Rewards and then enter promo code L1062 on the check out page.

Meanwhile, please visit our "virtual" conference for some great content, free webinars, and contact information for the HK staff you may have planned to talk to while at the show!

Congratulations to HK author, Dolly Lambdin!

Dolly Lamdin was awarded with the Margie R. Hanson Elementary Physical Education Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Lamdin is one of the authors of the Fitness for Life Elementary School program, Fitness for Life Middle School student text and teachers guide, and Putting Research to Work in Elementary Physical Education: Conversations in the Gym.

Integrating Nutrition Education into PE
On March 7th, Chuck Corbin, co-author of Fitness for Life Elementary School program, conducted a webinar on the topic of integrating nutrition education into physical education. Presented by AAHPERD and Let’s Move in School, this hour long webinar covers energy balance, priority lifestyles, trends, and ideas to help you gear up for the “Let’s Move in School” initiative. You’ll also see and hear information from a teacher’s perspective and well as the barriers seen by a dietician and ways to overcome those barriers. Information on Fuel Up to Play 60 is also available.
